The BEACHCOMBING SERIES includes free blown, hot shaped sculptures of Murano glass, some of which on iron stands.
This series challenges the viewers to reflect upon their perception and response to the artworks, which stir emotion, memory, imagination, and thinking. The essence of the material goes beyond the appearance of each piece. Free of any representational purpose, the pieces from the BEACHCOMBINB SERIES are pure objects of perception whose essence is subjective.

Colour is something that can express either belonging or a longing to get away.
Orifices are openings, convey transition.
These are indeterminate objects – caught in the moment
like flotsam and jetsam
picked up on distant shores.
Stripped of their context,
things lose clarity,
become ambivalent.
Released from representational duties,
they are pure perception,
have an existence which is beyond ‘objective’.
Meaning is elusive, can be anything or nothing.
